The Crispy Warriors is a group of military veterans with some civilians thrown in for good taste. Its history dates back to 1995 when a group of veteran Air Force pilots met for breakfast around the "big round table" at Harbor Docks, in Destin, Florida.
The group’s name derives from members wanting their bacon crispy and the waitresses referring to them as the "Crispies."
The original group included Jerry Stalnaker, Scotty Roberts and the “old guard” including Harry Johnson, Evans Heath, George Warren, and Tom Pollard, having crossed the horizon.
We are an eclectic mixture of mostly WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and Gulf War vets, with lots of pilots, but grunts and swabbies too, representing all U.S. military services: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, and soon the Space Force (no astronauts yet).
The group meets for fellowship breakfast once a week, Thursday, 7:00 am, in Destin at Crackings (owned by Tommy and Marcia Green and managed by their son Preston) to tell old stories and solve the world's problems.
